Overview

West Virginia University School of Medicine and the WVU Heart and Vascular Institute seek a Non-Invasive Cardiologist (ranks available: Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor). The successful candidate will practice in Keyser, WV.

Location and Travel

Depending on operational needs, a successful candidate may also be assigned to provide services at additional worksites in West Virginia, Maryland, Pennsylvania, Ohio, and Virginia. Travel would be anticipated and expected to fulfill duties at these sites.

Duties

The successful candidate will practice in the area of non‑invasive cardiology. In addition to providing excellent patient care, the candidate will actively involve teaching medical students, internal medicine residents, and cardiology fellows.

Qualifications

Candidate must have an MD or DO degree or foreign equivalent and be eligible for state medical licensure. Must have completed an internal medicine residency program and a cardiovascular fellowship program. Must be board certified or eligible in cardiovascular disease. All qualifications must be met by the time of appointment.

Hospital Information

WVU Medicine Potomac Valley Hospital is a twenty‑five bed, critical access medical facility employing over two hundred area residents and extending privileges to approximately 50 physicians. This HVI Regional service will include inpatient consults, outpatient visits, echocardiography, and stress testing. APP support is present.

Community

Keyser, WV, is an area rich in history and full of outdoor recreation such as hiking, camping, fishing, and whitewater rafting. Located in the eastern panhandle, there is easy access to Interstates 68 and 70, making a trip to Washington, DC just under three hours.
