Responsibilities- Develop, implement, and manage the branch safety program and ensure compliance with company, client, and government safety regulations.
- Conduct regular safety audits and inspections to identify potential hazards and ensure safety equipment is in good working order.
- Lead incident investigations, identify root causes, and recommend corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
- Provide safety training and education to all employees, ensuring a comprehensive understanding of safety procedures, protocols, and regulations.
- Maintain accurate records of safety-related incidents and compile statistical reports for senior management.
- Advise on specialist areas such as fire regulations, hazardous substances, noise, safeguarding machinery, and occupational diseases.
- Act as a liaison with local, state, and federal safety regulatory agencies.
- Regularly review and update safety policies and procedures in line with changing regulations and industry best practices.
- Promote a positive safety culture within the branch through proactive engagement with employees at all levels.
- Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Construction Management, or a related field (or equivalent certifications).
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a safety management role within the construction industry.
- Proven track record as a safety coordinator or similar role.
- In-depth knowledge of local, state, and federal safety regulations applicable to construction sites.
- Proficiency with OSHA regulations, including OSHA 30-Hour – Construction Industry and OSHA 510.
- Knowledge of construction processes, equipment, materials, and associated safety considerations.
- Strong hazard identification, risk assessment, and accident investigation skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to deliver safety training.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and safety management software.
- Certification as a Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or equivalent is preferred.
- First Aid/CPR certification is required.
- Rigging/Signaling expertise and Competent Person Fall Protection qualification are advantages.
- Ability to travel to various construction sites within the branch territory.
