The Town of Cumberland Gap is seeking qualified applicants for a Building Inspector position on As-Needed Basis. Responsibilities include inspecting residential and commercial buildings for compliance with International Building Codes and Town Codes (building construction, structural, mechanical, and plumbing regulations), fostering positive relationships with contractors and the public, and issuing violation notices, stop-work orders, and construction permits.
Requirements- Current and valid Tennessee Building Inspector certification or obtain the required certification within one year of employment as a condition of continued employment.
- Ability to be bonded and certified by the Tennessee State Fire Marshal.
- Valid driver's license and high school diploma/equivalent.
- Essential:
Demonstrated experience in building construction or inspections.
