The Role:
Commercial Manager – South Wales/West
To support the growth of ABP’s revenue and EBITDA in the region through sales and business development excellence.
Accountabilities- Identify, develop, and convert new business opportunities to maximise EBITDA growth and customer satisfaction.
- Take ownership of all matters related to customer account management through the full lifecycle.
- Negotiate commercial agreements in line with delegated approval protocols and legal frameworks.
- Manage existing commercial agreements in relation to performance, pricing, dispute management, and payment terms.
- Actively assist with the production of commercial KPI reports using various systems including SAP CRM, excel and Power Point
- Prepare Board Papers and complete financial due diligence in line with legal and financial frameworks.
- Participate in key industry working groups and industry bodies to help develop new opportunities and partnerships in relevant core and emerging sectors.
- Support the creation of relevant marketing material, website content, regional and corporate communications and social media activity according to shared Group and regional objectives.
- Monitor developments within the ports industry and in particular competitor ports to guide ABP’s commercial growth strategy.
- Support in the full and successful implementation of the Group Commercial Strategy, i.e. Go to market (G2M), Continual improvement (CI) and Value proposition offering.
You will have the ability to manage a range of key accounts, across various industrial linked maritime sectors, to support long-term incremental growth. Naturally, you will work collaboratively to drive business improvements, efficiencies and uphold ABP’s twin missions whilst, at all times, acting as an ambassador for ABP, clearly living and demonstrating the Company’s Vison and Values
Skills, Experience & Qualifications- Minimum of 3 years' experience in a maritime or B2B sales related role.
- Strong commercial acumen with in-depth understanding of the ports, maritime and/or shipping industry.
- Demonstrable experience and capability to grow business revenues and profitability.
- Demonstrable customer services excellence.
- A team player capable of working with others to develop and deliver team objectives.
- Ability to effectively manage and prioritise workload.
- Ability to assert authority in order to meet agreed timescales and deadlines and to overcome problems.
- Estates and property management exposure.
- Experience undertaking market and competitor analysis.
