Key responsibilities of the role

Under the management and direction of your Line/Project Manager, the role will involve:

Delivering great work for our clients through high quality work, and research and analysis:

  • Assist with the creation of client-facing deliverables
  • Monitor and check work to ensure high quality standards, identify mistakes and take appropriate action for future work
  • Understand and clearly articulate the research question and the problem at hand
  • Identify the problem and consider potential solutions
  • Conduct research to identify key data points and high-level trends
  • Collect and compile data into consistent formats so that it can be easily analysed
  • Produce reports and summaries of research undertaken, identifying areas which may be of interest to the client/s

Winning profitable work for the company through customer focus and commercial awareness:

  • Develop a good understanding of the clients needs and make client’s needs a primary focus
  • Identifies and raises issues to the relevant person internally to ensure appropriate action is taken
  • Learns from feedback to ensure OCO continuously provides a quality service
  • Develop a clear understanding of OCO’s services and clients
  • Understand individual KPIs for projects and behaviours OCO are seeking to drive

Improve your knowledge and skills through effective communication, planning and organisation:

  • Confidently and proactively uses both verbal and written communication to communicate to clients and colleagues
  • Organise own time and work effectively to meet various competing deadlines
  • Advises colleagues or manager early of any obstacles to work delivery
  • Effectively handles multiple tasks and requests for support

Supporting your colleagues by leading, working as part of a global team and being flexible:

  • Demonstrate openness to changing work priorities, circumstances and deadlines
  • Establish rapport and build relationships with colleagues and managers through sharing ideas and listening to what others have to say
  • Collaborate effectively with other team members to solve problems across markets and Divisions

Qualifications

  • Third level degree or equivalent professional qualification in Business, Economics, Geography (other disciplines will be considered where candidates can demonstrate core skills required).

Knowledge, Skills & Experience

  • Strong research and analytical skills
  • Up to date knowledge of and ability to locate key sources of information
  • Ability to process large volumes of data
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Displays initiative in taking greater responsibility without being asked
  • Demonstrated ability to problem solve
  • Experience of Excel and Power Point
  • Experience working in inward investment and understanding of FDI processes highly desirable.
  • Experience of working in a similar research role
