Engineering Project Accountant – Winchester

Our client is developing and building multiple multi-year Contracts and Projects in the UK and they are looking for skilled people to deliver on these fantastic opportunities in Anaerobic Digestion and Biomethane.

They are recruiting for Engineering Project Accountants who will report into accounting supervisors and provide pre-billing information for project managers to review. You are also required to provide cost estimates and prepare invoices.

Your duties/responsibilities of the role will include:

• Preparation of Project and maintenance job costings
• Analysing time booked to projects and maintenance jobs against budgets
• Reviewing budgets, including staffing, work plans, and fee structures
• Providing project managers and clients with timely financial reports
• Preparing pre-billing reports for project managers to review
• Preparing actual costs, working capital, and tax reports
• Monitoring receivable income and supporting project managers with collections
• Issuing invoices and purchase orders, as well as paying consultant, subcontractor, vendor, and supplier bills
• Ensuring a steady cash flow by generating, auditing, and sending invoices in a timely manner
• Updating contracts according to client requirements and reporting associated budget amendments
• Providing support to up-and-coming sites remotely when needed
• Generating, updating, and maintaining reports on income, expenditure, and financial transactions
• Creating and managing on-going project accounts
• Keeping a record of project expenses, contracts, and other accounting data

Skills, Qualifications & Experience:

• Finance qualification or training (ACA, CIMA or ACCA)
• Systems used – Xero Account or similar
• Worked with Sub contractors and Supply chains
• Project Experience
