Position Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Advanced Commercial HVAC Installer to lead and perform the installation of complex HVAC systems for commercial projects. This role requires advanced technical expertise, leadership skills, and a commitment to delivering high-quality installations that meet industry standards and client expectations. The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge of commercial HVAC systems, the ability to troubleshoot complex issues, and a proven track record of successfully leading installation teams by example.
ResponsibilitiesProject Leadership
- Lead the installation of advanced commercial HVAC systems, including rooftop units, split systems, VRF/VRV systems, chillers, boilers, and ductwork.
- Supervise and mentor junior and intermediate installers, providing guidance and on-the-job training.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other trades to ensure efficient and timely project execution.
- Perform advanced system layout, assembly, and installation according to engineering blueprints and specifications.
- Conduct start-up, testing, and commissioning of HVAC systems to ensure optimal performance.
- Diagnose and resolve installation and operational issues, ensuring compliance with safety standards and building codes.
- Assist in designing and planning commercial HVAC installations for custom or complex projects.
- Ensure adherence to all safety protocols and OSHA regulations on job sites.
- Perform safety briefings and inspections to identify and mitigate risks.
- Ensure compliance with local building codes, industry standards, and company policies.
- Maintain accurate records of installations, including as-built drawings, system configurations, and material usage.
- Communicate project progress, challenges, and solutions effectively with stakeholders, including clients and project managers.
- Build strong relationships with clients, addressing concerns and ensuring satisfaction with completed work.
Experience:
- 5-7+ years of commercial HVAC installation experience, with at least 2-3 years in a leadership role.
Education/Certification:
- A high school diploma or GED is required; vocational training in HVAC is preferred.
- EPA Universal Refrigerant Certification preferred.
- OSHA 30 certification preferred.
- RMGA certification is required.
- Additional certifications in advanced HVAC systems, such as NATE, are highly desirable.
Skills:
- Expertise in commercial HVAC installation, including advanced systems like VRF/VRV, chillers, and energy management systems.
- Strong ability to read and interpret complex blueprints, schematics, and technical documents.
- Leadership and team management skills with a focus on fostering a safe, efficient, and collaborative work environment.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with a focus on quality and customer satisfaction.
Physical and Other Requirements:
- Ability to lift and carry up to 75 pounds.
- Comfortable working in confined spaces, heights, or varying weather conditions.
- Physically able to stand, kneel, and climb ladders for extended periods.
- Able to wear a tool belt and carry tools.
