Position DescriptionWork in an exciting industry, building incredible products as part of the Silencer Co Quality Assurance Team! Silencer Co has a high standard for all our products that leave our facility. As a Quality Technician you are responsible for checking all products throughout production and before they are shipped to customers, ensuring that we meet our high standard for precision and durability.
Quality Technicians play a role in inspecting and ensuring that products meet or exceed blueprint specifications and other fit, form and function related parameters. You would be responsible for calibrating and issuing measuring equipment/gauges to operators and other co‑workers to ensure that products can be properly inspected at their workstations.
- Calibrate and maintain all measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, optical comparators, thread gauges, etc.
- Kit measuring instruments for upcoming machine changeovers to minimize downtime.
- Order new measuring instruments for new products and to replace worn or damaged instruments.
- React to quality abnormalities in the production environment.
- Read and comprehend blueprints, data, manuals, SOPs or other documentation to determine specifications, inspection and testing procedures, adjustment methods, certification processes, formulas, or measuring instruments required.
- Problem‑solve non‑conforming issues that may arise within the shop.
- Regularly create and implement process improvements.
- Operate our coordinate measuring machine, Keyence optical measurement system, surface roughness tester and other advanced metrology equipment.
- Execute regular Quality Certification Service (QCS) on products.
- Report features or parts which don’t conform to print of design intent (NCR).
- Basic understanding of mathematics; it is a plus if you have knowledge of the imperial system/decimal inch, arithmetic, algebra, geometry, statistics, and other applications.
- Quality analysis – conducting tests and inspections of products, services, or processes to evaluate quality or performance.
- Critical thinking – using logic and reasoning to suggest alternative solutions to problems, arriving at conclusions through data, research, and information presented verbally. The ability to apply skills both internally and externally.
- Basic computer skills – experience with Excel, Word, Solid Works, PowerPoint, and Google Suite is a plus. Silencer Co operates on Mac and Windows computers.
- Detail oriented – inspection requires meticulous attention to detail.
- Knowledge of firearms industry and Silencer Co products is a plus.
- High school diploma required.
- One year of basic work experience.
