Level Descriptions

Level I – Must be able to achieve many objectives of this position. Requires some supervision to ensure tasks are accomplished and communication is adequate (verbal, written, email, etc.).

Level II – Consistently achieves all objectives of this position. Provides mentoring and direct day-to-day supervision to Level 1 positions.

Senior – Highly experienced with a deep understanding of the systems installed and maintained within the division. May act as a lead on complex tasks and provide mentoring and supervision when required on projects.

Job Duties & Responsibilities
  • Provide input to sales and operations regarding technical and business considerations for construction or direct owner projects, including estimating, value engineering, timing, special resource needs, or other project-specific aspects.
  • Ensure projects are booked correctly and all necessary forms are completed for internal and external purposes. Ensure project documents, estimates, and other information are available to relevant personnel to maximize productivity.
  • Assess whether customer expectations align with Climatec’s estimate or contractual scope; provide feedback internally and externally as appropriate.
  • Identify and resolve potential project issues. Accurately forecast costs by area, track over time to meet budget and forecast goals.
  • Invoicing and active involvement in collections to minimize aging. Coordinate material orders and timing with Material Coordinator to optimize cash flow and material handling efficiency.
  • Ensure equipment compatibility and proper sequencing. Coordinate with subcontractors or internal teams to maximize installation value.
  • Complete monthly WIP re-forecast. Recommend technical solutions to sales and operations and assist Sales during estimating. Identify change order opportunities and coordinate with sales to document, pursue, and book them.
  • Provide support to Climatec and other contractors to resolve building operating issues beyond controls or special systems operation. Communicate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure accurate labor, productivity, and scheduling.
  • Provide leadership and input to others for accurate estimation, design, installation, start-up, commissioning, and training for building systems. Provide engineering input to external organizations as required (consulting engineers, building owners, contractors).
  • Provide ongoing service engineering and support for existing building systems. Review engineered submittals for adherence to scope, budget, and customer expectations; provide input on employee goals as needed.
  • Must be able to travel for extended durations. Other duties as assigned.
Skills & Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • BS (Computer/Electrical/Mechanical) Engineering, Construction Management or equivalent experience/training.
  • 3+ years of HVAC and/or Building Automation and Project Management experience.
  • 3+ years of Construction Project Management experience or related field.
  • Proficient in interpreting and managing billing processes, including understanding schedules of values.
