The Facilities Technician is a versatile role combining environmental services with maintenance support. Technicians are responsible for the weekly cleaning of assigned zones, the daily completion of maintenance work orders, and assisting with facility-wide projects.

• Apartment & Common Area Cleaning: Perform weekly: removing linens from beds and placing in laundry basket, empty trash, bathroom sanitization, floor care, and surface cleaning according to the floor schedule.
• Maintenance Work Orders: Execute daily repair tickets, including light electrical, plumbing, and room preparations.
• Project Assistance: Assist the Coordinator and Director with facility projects such as painting and equipment upgrades.
• Waste Management: Perform building-wide trash removal daily for the facility.
• Emergency Response: Provide rapid cleanup and disinfection following resident accidents or spills.
• Resident Support: Maintain high standards of respect for resident privacy, belongings, and dignity.

The "Housekeeper" and "Maintenance Assistant" titles have been retired to make room for our new Facilities Technician model. This means:

• Integrated Duties: When you are in a resident room for your weekly cleaning, you are responsible for identifying and completing minor maintenance or submitting a work order for larger issues.
• Daily Work Orders: Technicians will are assigned to a set of daily work orders to complete in addition to the floor cleaning rotation.
• Project Support: In the afternoons, Technicians will assist Will (Facilities Coordinator) or myself with major building projects.

• Trash: Building trash remains a daily priority for the Facilities team.
• RCAs: Our Resident Care Assistants handle daily room trash and all resident laundry.
• Excellence: This change ensures that when we enter a room, we leave it both clean and fully functional.
