A specialized Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) position is available to support high school students in a unique educational setting designed for learners with Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD) and other learning differences. This opportunity involves providing personalized and supportive speech-language services that promote independence and skill development outside traditional classroom environments.

Location:

Ludlow, MA (assignment based at a high school; clients main office is in West Springfield, MA)

Duration:
August 27, 2026 – June 22, 2027 (estimated for the 2026/2027 school year)

Hours:

32.5 hours per week

Caseload:
High school students served through a specialized program, with supervisory responsibilities for an SLPA

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver individualized speech-language therapy services to high school students with ASD and other learning differences
  • Collaborate with educators, families, and support staff to develop and implement effective communication goals
  • Supervise and mentor a Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) to ensure quality service delivery
  • Participate in team meetings and contribute to the ongoing development of the Compass High Program
  • Maintain thorough documentation and comply with state and program requirements
Qualifications
  • Valid state licensure and certification as an SLP (SLP-CCC preferred)
  • Experience in educational settings with students on the autism spectrum or with complex learning needs
  • Strong ability to work collaboratively within interdisciplinary teams
  • Supervisory experience with support personnel such as SLPAs is highly desirable
  • Commitment to fostering student independence and personalized therapeutic approaches
