We are growing and in need of a Plant Operator III for our VSS Emultech facility.

Our Seasonal Operator II is an Intermediate-level operator responsible for manufacturing of emulsified and binder products; loading and unloading of emulsified products, hot asphalt chemicals and related supplies. Operate and understand all plant equipment.

• Manufacturing of emulsified asphalt product.
• Manufacturing of asphalt binders
• Loading and unloading of emulsified asphalt and binder trucks, tack pots and spreader trucks.
• Unloading chemical and supply trucks.
• Operate all boilers, heaters, oxidizers and any other plant equipment
• Collection of products samples.
• Basic housekeeping duties (cleaning up litter, spilled products, bathrooms and offices).
• Sweeping building interiors.
• Proper tool cleaning and storage.
• Sampling and testing of asphalt and emulsified asphalt product to meet ALL DOT and AASHTO specifications.
• Basic written recordkeeping.
• Daily Tank level readings.
• Daily paperwork.
• Holding safety meetings and training classes.
• Adherence to all environmental, health and safety rules, policies and procedures

• An ability to prepare and interpret flowcharts, schedules, and step-by-step action plans.
• Solid organizational skills, including multitasking and time-management.
• Strong client-facing and teamwork skills
• Familiarity with risk management and quality assurance control
• Strong working knowledge of Microsoft programs
• Hands-on experience with plant operations
• 5 + years of experience in the road surfacing industry, emulsion plants and asphalt terminal experience, and/or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Current state automobile driver’s license and a reliable vehicle, potentially for work-related travel.
