Project Accountant

Description

Robert Half is looking for a detail-oriented Project Accountant for a well-established company. In this role, you will oversee financial processes for construction projects, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies and industry standards. This position is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and has a strong background in construction accounting. This is a direct hire position that will work in the office in West Sacramento.

Responsibilities:

- Manage project-related financial activities, including tracking budgets, expenses, and revenues.

- Prepare accurate billing and invoicing for construction projects, ensuring timely submissions.

- Maintain detailed financial records and ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards.

- Collaborate with project managers to review financial performance and address discrepancies.

- Generate reports that provide insights into project costs and profitability.

- Ensure all financial transactions align with company policies and industry regulations.

- Support audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations.

- Assist in forecasting and analyzing financial data to support decision-making.

- Coordinate with vendors and subcontractors to resolve billing and payment issues.

- Monitor cash flow and ensure proper allocation of resources for ongoing projects.

Requirements

Qualifications:

- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred.

- Proven experience in project accounting within the construction industry.

- Strong knowledge of construction accounting principles and practices.

- Proficiency in preparing and managing billing processes for construction projects.

- Familiarity with tracking project budgets and financial performance.
