Position OverviewWe are seeking a School Nurse to join our team. The successful candidate will provide healthcare services, promote wellness, and support the well-being of students in school settings.
Key Responsibilities- Provide direct nursing care to students with acute or chronic health conditions, including medication administration, wound care, catheterization, and tube feeding.
- Conduct health assessments and screenings, monitor vital signs, and address health concerns and emergencies.
- Collaborate with school staff, parents, and healthcare providers to develop and implement individualized health plans and accommodations for students with special health needs.
- Administer medications, treatments, and procedures according to physician orders, nursing protocols, and school policies, ensuring accurate documentation and safety.
- Educate students, families, and school staff on health promotion, disease prevention, and management of chronic conditions; provide training and support as needed.
- Respond to medical emergencies and provide first aid and emergency care following established protocols.
- Maintain accurate and confidential health records, including immunization records, medication logs, and incident reports.
- Collaborate with school counselors, psychologists, and social workers to support students mental health and emotional well-being as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Bachelor s or Associate s degree in Nursing from an accredited program
- Current RN licensure in the state of practice
- Previous experience as a school nurse or in pediatric nursing (preferred)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required;
Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) preferred - Strong clinical assessment skills and knowledge of pediatric health conditions and treatments
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to collaborate with students, families, school staff, and healthcare providers

Physical Requirements (Working in a School Setting)Regular standing, walking, and movement around the school facility. Ability to communicate effectively with students, staff, and parents in writing and verbal form. May need to lift or move objects up to 25 pounds and may occasionally bend, stoop, kneel, or crouch.
