Initial Cut-Off Date: Tuesday, January 27, 2026 (Applications must be received by 11:59 PM EST). Subsequent referrals to the Hiring Manager will occur every two weeks thereafter based on management's need to fill positions.

United States (U.S.) Citizens and Non-U.S. Nationals who have resided in the U.S. or U.S. territory for three (3) or more continuous years immediately preceding the start of Federal affiliation.

Duties
  • Sets up bars for operation, obtains cash bank and stocks service bar. Assures an adequate stock level is maintained, sets up storeroom and work area to permit easy access to stock items.
  • Prepares a limited variety of simple alcoholic beverages as requested by patrons and wait staff.
  • Records sales and makes change or prepares charge slips. Keeps bar and work area clean and sanitary.
  • Identifies persons who become unruly or who appear intoxicated, resolves the problem or seeks assistance in accordance with established procedures.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • Direct Deposit and Social Security Card is required.
  • Meet qualification/eligibility/background requirements for this position.
  • A one-year probationary period may be required.
  • Satisfactorily complete an employment verification (E-Verify) check.
  • A Medical Examination is required; physical effort includes regularly lifting and carrying items weighing up to 20 pounds, occasionally lifting and carrying items weighing up to 40 pounds, standing for prolonged periods.
  • This position is dual compensation exempt;
    All GS and NAF employees whether full time or part time are eligible to apply for this position.
  • Satisfactory completion of a minimum of 4 hours of initial food sanitation and safety training is required within 30 days of employment and a minimum of 4 hours annual refresher training.
  • Work hours may involve weekday, weekend, holiday and night duty.
  • This position is eligible to receive gratuities (tips) based on the type of event(s) and performance.
Qualifications

Resumes must be two pages (or less) and should clearly demonstrate relevant experience, skills, knowledge and abilities as they pertain to this position.

  • Meet state/local age requirements for the serving of alcoholic beverages at the time of appointment.
  • Be able to lift and carry weights up to 20 pounds.
  • Possess math skills necessary to calculate patron bills and take inventory.
  • Skill in mixing and serving alcoholic and nonalcoholic beverages.

It is recommended the above abilities be reflected on your resume to be considered eligible for this position.

Highly Preferred / Best Qualified: Prior experience working as a full-service bartender in a restaurant and/or catering facility. Applicants meeting the Highly Preferred criteria will be referred first to the Selecting Official.

  • Notes on Special Qualifying Skills and Experience may allow higher than the Step 1 rate of pay, determined by the Hiring Manager.
  • Area Of Consideration: within a 75-mile radius of West Point, NY. MSP and ISMP eligible candidates are included in the area of consideration.
