Position: Kitchen Helper NA-01

Summary

This position is located at the West Point Club.

NOTE:

The official title for this position is Food Service Worker NA-01. The "working title" is Kitchen Helper NA-01.

Eligibility

This job is open to U.S. Citizens, Nationals or those who owe allegiance to the U.S. United States (U.S.) Citizens and Non-U.S. Nationals who have resided in the U.S. or U.S. territory for three (3) or more continuous years immediately preceding the start of Federal affiliation.

Duties
  • Performs a variety of routine manual tasks in a kitchen or dining area following established procedures
  • Removes dishes and trays from tables after meals. Washes tables and counters.
  • Loads and operates dishwashers. Separates food waste and trash from dishes, glasses, and silverware.
  • Vacuum and shampoo carpets; sweep and mop kitchen floors. Clean windows and wash walls. Clean and sanitize trash cans; dispose of trash.
  • Clean kitchen equipment such as worktables, sinks and refrigerators. Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • Direct Deposit and Social Security Card is required.
  • Meet qualification/eligibility/background requirements for this position.
  • One-year probationary period may be required.
  • Complete an employment verification (E-Verify) check satisfactorily.
  • Work hours may involve weekdays, weekends, holidays and night duty.
  • Medical examination is required; subject to continuous standing and walking, frequent stooping, reaching, pushing, pulling and bending.
  • Incumbent must be able to lift and move items weighing up to 20 pounds.
  • Position is dual compensation exempt; all GS and NAF employees whether full‑time or part‑time are eligible to apply.
Qualifications

Resumes must be two pages (or less). Resumes should clearly demonstrate the applicant's relevant experience, skills, knowledge and abilities as they pertain to this position.

  • Ability to understand and follow oral instructions and to perform simple tasks that are easy to learn.
Skill And Knowledge
  • Knowledge of basic food handling techniques, personal hygiene standards and safe work procedures.
  • Ability to perform routine manual tasks involving few steps, and to read and understand written material.
  • Basic arithmetic such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions and decimals.

Initial Cut-Off Date

Tuesday, January 27, 2026 (Applications must be received by 11:59 PM EST). Subsequent referrals to the Hiring Manager will occur every two weeks thereafter based on management's need to fill positions.
