Federal Staffing Resources is seeking qualified Emergency Medicine Physicians to support the Emergency Department at Keller Army Community Hospital (KACH) in West Point, NY. This is a non-personal services position supporting the Defense Health Agency (DHA) mission. You’ll provide high-quality emergency care to eligible military beneficiaries, including U.S. Military Academy Cadets, Active Duty Service Members, and their families.
This position is contingent upon federal contract award and successful completion of government credentialing and onboarding.
Schedule & Coverage- Primary coverage need is after-hours and weekends:
- Mon–Fri: 1600–0800
- Sat/Sun/Holidays: 24-hour coverage
- Occasional daytime support (infrequent): 0800–1600
- Minimum commitment: 2 shifts per month (to maintain system access)
- Note:
Providers may not work at another institution within 8 hours of a scheduled shift.
- Provide comprehensive emergency medical evaluation and treatment for acute/urgent conditions
- Stabilize and manage emergent medical/surgical cases and coordinate transfers/evacuations when needed
- Interpret EKGs and diagnostic imaging (including preliminary radiographic interpretations and CT as appropriate)
- Document care in MHS GENESIS and ensure all encounters are closed or transferred before end of shift
- Code encounters using ICD/CPT/HCPCS
- Follow up on labs/radiology ordered during your shift and communicate results per local policy
- Participate in quality activities (e.g., peer review, monthly chart review assignments)
- U.S. Citizenship (required)
- MD/DO (per government credentialing standards)
- Emergency Medicine OR Internal Medicine/Family Medicine with the required ED background
- Board must be ABMS or AOA-recognized
- Minimum 3 years Emergency Department experience (recent)
- Unrestricted medical license in a U.S. jurisdiction (must remain current)
- DEA registration (required)
- NPI (required)
- Current BLS and additional emergency-related certifications as required/appropriate (e.g., ACLS, PALS, ATLS)
- Ability to work extended shifts (16–24 hours may be required based on scheduling needs)
- Support a mission-focused military treatment facility
- Flexible PRN scheduling (with minimum monthly requirement)
- Highly professional clinical environment with strong standards of care
