The Lead Van Driver position is responsible for ensuring that units are moved from point "A" to point "B" in a safe and timely manner, while following all company policies and procedures. In addition, this position is responsible for effectively leading team members in order to achieve daily goals.
Responsibilities- Move vehicles to their proper location in a safe and efficient manner
- Effectively lead team members on bus, providing direction and assistance, in order to meet daily goals
- Ensure that all vehicles moved in the yard are moved in a safe and timely manner to their correct locations by Glovis standards
- Willfully complete all tasks as instructed by leadership
- Ensure drivers follow company policy and procedures
- Communicate company guidelines and standards to the team members on the van, so they are aware of what should and should not be done
- Ensure all team members on van are following all company rules, regulations, policies, and safety guidelines, including but not limited to proper dress code
- Ensure all team members on van abide by the speed limit at all times, and are not conducting themselves in a manner that can cause damage to the vehicles
- Report all violations to the supervisor
- Communication and teamwork
- Communicate and work with internal/external customers, supervisors, and peers to accomplish tasks effectively
- Coordinate and communicate with other Van Drivers to ensure everyone is working together to achieve the same goal
- Communicate to the supervisor any problems that arise, that could hinder them from meeting the daily goal
- Other duties as assigned

- Good driving record Required
- Prior leadership experience Preferred
- High School Diploma or G.E.D Required
- Supervisory experience Preferred
- 1 year of experience Preferred
- Ability to sit in front of a desk and/or in front of the computer for long periods
- Repetitive use of hand/grasping product, writing, and typing
- Lift up to 15 lbs.
- Carry up to 15 lbs.
- Stand/walk

- Typical office environment with low-level noise exposure based in a plant manufacturing/warehouse setting.
- Must be comfortable driving 3/4 ton van with employees on board
- Exposure to outdoor temperatures and vehicle exhaust fumes
- The position is based in a plant manufacturing/warehousing environment
- Communication with employees and field partners will be primarily conducted via phone and email
