Revenue Cycle Medical Billing Self-Pay Call Team – Patient Advocate
Location: Remote or On-Site
Hourly Pay: $17.50 (this position is bonus eligible)

Mo-Fr 8-5pm Central
Work Schedule: Full-Time/40 hrs, Tu-Fr 10am-7pm;
Sa 8 hrs
The Revenue Cycle Medical Billing Self-Pay Call Team - Patient Advocate is responsible for ensuring proper documentation for accurate patient billing along with providing empathetic and professional customer service in an active call center environment.
Work Schedule Details:
Tuesdays - Fridays late shift 8 hours between 10am-9pm Central
Saturdays flex 8 hours between 7am-7pm Central
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/DUTIES- Take inbound calls assisting customers with billing inquiries
- Make outbound calls to validate active insurance coverage
- Collect outstanding balances
- Assist customers with Compassionate Care applications
- Document billing activity accurately
- Float into all areas of patient billing activity
- Calculate numbers, correct entries, and post to records
- Gather data, compile information, and prepare reports
- Use independent judgment and to manage and impart confidential information
- Prepare routine administrative work
- Records maintenance
Required Experience
- A minimum of one (1) year working in a call center environment
- Minimum of one (1) year of customer service experience
- Ability to work independently or as an active member of a team
- Must possess empathic and professional written and verbal communication skills
- Knowledge and experience of computers and related technology, at an intermediate level
- Healthcare/Revenue Cycle billing experience
- Knowledge of health care billing compliance regulations (basic)
- Knowledge and understanding of payor Explanation of Benefit (basic)
- Collections experience
- Sales experience
- Excellent internal and external customer service skills
- High school diploma
- GED
- Or significant, relevant work experience
