Job Description

The West Plains School District is seeking highly qualified applicants for the position of Middle School Computer/Reading Success Teacher. The computer courses are an extension of the schools instructional and literacy program;
Instruction will focus on the Missouri Computer Science Standards for Elementary and Secondary. The reading success courses are intended to provide intensive reading interventions as a key element for the school district's focus on improving literacy. This position is also responsible for the West Plains Middle School Yearbook (one hour per day).

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Providing students with competent computer literacy instruction, training to become self-reliant users of information resources and technology including ethical use.
• Collaborate in the design and delivery of curricular instruction.
• Foster an atmosphere which encourages student and technology usage.
• Provide professional support for classroom teachers content integration with the use of information resources and technologies.
• Promotes the appropriate use of online resources.
• Collaborating with classroom teachers in the preparation, presentation, and evaluation of units or assignments that utilize information technology resources;
• Promoting the integrated use of technology as a learning tool.
• Actively participate in the Professional Learning Community.
