Driver, Bus Driver
The Bus Driver is responsible for transporting club members to and from the club in a safe manner and maintaining company vehicles. This position is 20 Hours weekly between the hours of 1:00pm
-6:00pm.
- Operates bus on a prescribed route by picking up or leaving off members at designated locations; follows established signaling and safety procedures.
- Instructs members in the safe and proper methods of boarding and departing from the bus.
- Monitors operating condition of the bus on a continual basis and reports needed servicing and/or repairs. Keeps the bus free of litter and trash.
- Prepares accident and special reports as needed.
- Attends training programs, testing programs, first aid courses, refresher courses and other meetings as scheduled.
- Maintain daily vehicle log and stay on established routes and schedules.
- Complies with State laws, rules and regulations and Boys & Girls Club policies relative to transportation.
- Conducts oneself in the best interest of the members.
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Internal:
Maintain contact with Club program staff and Director - External:
Maintain contact with members and parents as needed; provide advice and/or discipline
- Valid Florida CDL Class B license with passenger and air brake endorsement and “S” endorsement
- Experience driving bus preferred
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Ability to pass required physical examination
- No convictions for moving violations as verified through the Florida Division of Motor Vehicles in the three (3) continuous years preceding the date of application for position
- Ability to work flexible hours and handle various routes
- Ability to read maps and make relevant independent determinations with respect to routes
- Demonstrated ability to work with youth
