Job Overview
Position: IRRIGATION TECHNICIAN
Salary: $21.18 Per Hour

Location:
John Prince Park, 2700 6th Avenue S., Lake Worth
Hours:
7:00 A.M. to 3:30 P.M., Monday - Friday; may be required to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Other:
Must be able to lift 50 pounds. Valid Florida Driver’s License and PBC Risk Management Department driving history approval prior to appointment. Hearing Loss Test required for selected candidate.
Performs installation, maintenance, and repairs of large, commercial irrigation systems and related components, including new irrigation pumps, motors, flow meters, hydraulic pressure control valves, timers, jockey pumps, low‑voltage electrical wiring, and decorative fountains. Monitors timers and water meters to ensure they remain within the recommended usage limits. Responsible for the safe and efficient operation of equipment/pumps, and for making the necessary maintenance checks.
Interprets blueprints, schematics, and operation manuals.
- Graduation from high school or an equivalent recognized certification; minimum of three (3) years of experience working with large irrigation or sprinkler systems or related plumbing equipment.
- Preference for experience:
Performing irrigation work in a park, country club, or golf course; operating mid‑size backhoes, trenching machines, and large irrigation pumps. Also desirable:
Irrigation‑related coursework or seminars; knowledge of smart irrigation controllers and flow management systems.
