Director of Development; Major Gifts

Scion Staffing has been engaged to conduct a search for a Director of Development for a mission-driven, nonprofit animal rescue organization dedicated to compassionate care, community impact, and lifesaving work. This is a full-time, on-site position based in West Palm Beach, FL.

In this senior leadership role, the Director of Development leads and advances fundraising initiatives that sustain and grow a large-scale animal rescue organization. Partnering closely with executive leadership, this position oversees donor engagement strategies, drives philanthropic growth, and strengthens long-term development efforts. This is an excellent opportunity for a fundraising leader passionate about animal welfare and mission-based work.

• Lead and execute annual fundraising strategies, donor campaigns, and appeals
• Cultivate and steward relationships with individual donors, corporate partners, and foundations
• Guide proposal development, sponsor ships, and donor impact communications
• Oversee donor data integrity and engagement tracking using a donor CRM system
• Collaborate with executive leadership, board members, and internal teams to advance development goals
• Monitor fundraising performance and share insights to inform strategy

• Experience leading or managing fundraising, development, or donor engagement initiatives
• Proven ability to build and sustain strong, values-driven donor relationships
• Comfort working with donor databases or CRM systems (Raiser’s Edge, Salesforce, Donor Perfect, etc.)
• Strong communication, storytelling, and organizational skills
• Ability to lead priorities in a collaborative, mission-driven environment

This position offers a competitive annual salary range of $100,000–$125,000, plus bonus potential tied to fundraising outcomes. The benefits package includes paid time off, health insurance with partial employer coverage, and access to dental, vision, and life insurance.
