The estimated base pay for this position is $20 per hour. This role is also eligible for S&C's annual short-term incentive bonus, subject to eligibility criteria.
Join Our Team as an Assembler!The Assembler-Basic role involves performing essential mechanical and electrical assembly tasks to support the production of S&C's products. This entry-level position requires basic wiring, mechanical assembly, and the ability to follow schematics and assembly instructions.
Key Responsibilities:- Perform basic mechanical assembly tasks, such as mounting simple components, route, and secure cables, and ensure proper fit and function. Complete plastic fuse "welding" to connect plastic components together.
- If required for the specific work area, learn to complete basic wiring tasks according to schematics and assembly instructions. Charge control boards as needed to prep them for assembly.
- Learn the foundations of subassemblies in order to progress within the team.
- Mount components and route/secure cables as needed.
- Inspect components and assemblies to ensure correct component selection, placement, and wiring, according to quality standards.
- Maintain accurate records of tasks performed, deviations, and any quality concerns.
- Adhere strictly to safety protocols while handling tools, equipment, and materials. Report any safety hazards promptly.
- Complete in-house training to learn how to read basic blueprints and Bills of Materials (BOLs).
- Use a forklift, lift truck, and other material handling equipment to move and position materials for assembly. Unpack components in the Supermarket to feed necessary materials to the assembly line.
- Verify quality standards via a quality assurance checklist.
- Test products in the test cage and document the results of those tests.
- Meet department production targets and consistently adhere to quality and safety standards, including the use of lifting devices and other ergonomic or safety devices when required.
- Understand and comply with all applicable Company policies and rules.
- Work with departmental mentors to gain and apply feedback in pursuit of improved work quality.
- Seek clarification when instructions or processes are not understood.
- Maintain regular and punctual attendance.
- Attend in-person or virtual meetings as requested or required.
- Communicate effectively and respectfully with others.

- High School Diploma or GED
- 0-1 year of experience in mechanical or electrical assembly, which can include personal or hobby experience. Must have a desire to learn electrical/mechanical assembly processes, follow assembly instructions, and use various hand/power tools to assemble products.
- Proficient in performing precise and delicate tasks using hands and fingers. Able to manipulate small objects, operate tools, and handle intricate equipment effectively.
- Good attention to detail, with the ability to determine accurate part quantities consistently.
- Good communication skills (written and verbal) with the ability to articulate information efficiently and effectively to team members in a variety of production support departments.
- Basic computer skills with the ability to review and respond to requests via internal applications.
- Basic math skills with the ability to calculate measurements and weights.
- Good interpersonal and organizational skills with the ability to understand and complete requests given by team members inside and outside of the department.
- Ability to use hand tools, power tools, and measurement tools.
- Willingness to do physical work in a manufacturing environment.
- Ability and willingness to follow Health, Safety, and environment procedures accurately and report concerns promptly to the safety action team.
