job summary:
this position performs legal assistance support for the attorneys with office general counsel, legal section handling child support program cases of enforcement, and modification in judicial and administrative cases and is an excellent fit for critical thinkers. If you enjoy working with court officials and problem solving, this may be the position for you. Your duties would include:
- maintaining case files
- retrieving, interpreting, and updating case data
- scheduling, attending, and assisting in judicial and administrative proceedings
- initiating, receiving, and responding to varies communications
- maintaining data lists and databases
- draft, edit and prepare legal documents under supervision of attorneys and staff
- prepare routine correspondence based on preapproved document templates
- calendar deadlines in accordance with applicable rules of procedure
- electronically file documents with courts
- may accompany attorneys to court and assist as required
- one year of experience using microsoft office applications and performing computer system updates.
- one year of experience in: (a) providing legal assistance in an office or court environment, (b) reviewing and processing legal documents and/or correspondence, and (c) communicating with court officials, clerks of court, opposing attorneys, etc.*
- experience working with legal actions or legal documents.
- experience locating and printing documents from the cams system.
- this position may require you to travel off-site.
salary: $39,959.88 - $53,583.72 / annually
