HR Director | South Florida Insurance Agency

Established independent insurance agency is seeking an experienced HR Manager / Director to lead all HR functions and create a consistent, strategic people experience across the organization.

  • Develop and implement HR policies and programs aligned with business objectives
  • Oversee compensation strategy, salary administration, and merit increase processes
  • Lead employee relations, conflict resolution, and disciplinary actions
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and Florida employment laws (FMLA, ADA, FLSA, etc.)
  • Manage complete employee lifecycle from recruitment through offboarding
  • Manage insurance license compliance and tracking for all licensed employees
  • Stay current on evolving employment regulations and update policies accordingly

Benefits Administration:

  • Oversee all employee benefits programs (health, dental, vision, 401(k), disability, life, etc.)
  • Serve as primary liaison with benefits brokers, carriers, and TPAs
  • Ensure compliance with ACA, COBRA, HIPAA, and ERISA
  • Analyze costs and recommend plan design changes

Compensation & Payroll:

  • Develop and maintain competitive compensation structures
  • Conduct market analysis to ensure pay equity and competitiveness
  • Review payroll in Paylocity HRIS system
  • Ensure accuracy of compensation, deductions, and tax with holdings
  • Maintain system for reporting and compliance tracking

Talent Acquisition & Development:

  • Lead recruitment, screening, and interviewing for all open positions
  • Design and deliver comprehensive onboarding experiences
  • Manage performance review processes and provide coaching to managers
  • Handle terminations with professionalism and compliance

Culture & Engagement:

  • Foster positive workplace culture and employee engagement
  • Plan company events and recognition programs
  • Conduct stay interviews and exit interviews to inform retention strategies

Required Qualifications:

  • 10-15 years of progressive HR experience with demonstrated full-cycle HR expertise
  • Deep knowledge of Florida employment law and federal regulations
  • Extensive benefits administration and vendor management experience
  • Proven experience with compensation analysis and strategy
  • Proficiency with Paylocity or similar HRIS platforms
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent interpersonal and conflict resolution abilities
