About our PropertyThe Belgrove is a distinguished 4‑Diamond resort property in the Pyramid Global Hospitality portfolio, located in the heart of West Palm Beach. The resort features 150 elegantly designed rooms and villas, multiple exquisite restaurants, a world‑class spa, and a stunning golf course. We offer positions across various departments, including guest services, food and beverage, housekeeping, spa and wellness, sales and marketing, and more.
Job SummaryAs a Pastry Cook, you will ensure that our standards are delivered graciously and thoughtfully every day. You will prepare quality and consistent pastries for all areas while contributing to the success of our daily pastry operations.
What you will have an opportunity to do- Prepare a variety of pastries, desserts, and confections, ensuring each creation is a feast for the eyes and a treat for the tastebuds.
- Follow established recipes and guidelines to maintain consistency and quality in every dish.
- Work closely with the pastry team and other kitchen staff to ensure smooth operations and timely service.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to health and safety standards.
- Assist in the preparation and decoration of pastries for special events and occasions.
- Receive and check orders and requisitions, ensuring all necessary ingredients are available.
- Monitor stock levels and report any shortages or issues to the Executive Chef.
- Contribute to maintaining technical worksheets, recipes, and costings.
- Communicate effectively with team members and other departments to ensure coordination and timely responses to requests.
- Stay informed about industry trends and competitor activity to bring new ideas and innovations to the kitchen.
- Provide excellent customer service by addressing guest questions and feedback about dishes and kitchen services.
- Be familiar with basic and advanced cooking methods.
- Must be able to work long hours, including weekends and holidays.
- Have a 3+ years’ experience as a Pastry Chef in a high-volume professional kitchen.
- Must have basic allergy knowledge.
- Must have full knowledge of correct cooking temperatures of all vegetables and proteins, and must be able to provide cutting tools and a calibrated food‑grade thermometer.
- Must have full knowledge of the state’s health codes and the eco‑sure food safety and health report.
- Active Food‑handler’s certification.
- Requires strong organizational skills.
- Must be able to work independently.
- Able to be on your feet for long periods of time.
- Able to lift at least 50 pounds.
- At least 21 years of age.
- Have a desire to exceed expectations.
- An energetic personality.
