Dietary Assistant

Trustbridge Hospice, a division of Empath Health is seeking a detail-oriented Dietary Assistant I in Boca Raton & West Palm Beachto help promote and follow all dietary policies and procedures in the Care Centers to ensure safe food practices. This role plays a vital part in ensuring our programs and services meet regulatory dietary requirements, and reflect best practices that benefit our patients, families, and community.

Assemble and deliver patient or resident meal trays according to dietary orders and tray cards.

• Functions as a kitchen steward with food preparation, washing vegetables, assisting with catering orders.

Assist with basic food preparation tasks under the supervision of a cook or dietary supervisor.

Ensure cleanliness of kitchen, dining areas, and equipment following food safety and infection control procedures.

Wash dishes, utensils, and food service equipment using appropriate sanitizing techniques.

Maintain accurate temperature logs for food storage and meal service areas.

Set up and restock food stations, salad bars, or beverage stations as needed.

Follow special diet guidelines including diabetic, low-sodium, gluten-free, or allergy-specific meals.

Assist with receiving, rotating, and storing food supplies and inventory.

Provide friendly and respectful service to patients, residents, staff, and visitors.

Follow all facility policies and procedures related to food handling and dietary care.

High school diploma or GED preferred.

Previous experience in food service or healthcare settings preferred.

Ability to read, write, and follow oral and written instructions in English.

Basic understanding of nutrition, sanitation, and food safety practices (training provided).

Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Must be able to stand for long periods and lift up to 25–50 pounds.

Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and as part of a team.

Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays, as needed.
