Job Description & How to Apply Below
We are seeking a highly organized, technically proficient, and deeply discreet Family Office Accountant to manage the comprehensive financial landscape for the senior partners of our firm and their multi-generational family members.
This is not a traditional corporate accounting role. You will act as a dedicated financial steward, overseeing everything from high-level estate planning and investment tracking to the essential daily details of cash management and bill payments. We need a "plug-and-play" professional who can navigate complex entity structures with a positive, proactive attitude.
Core Responsibilities
Financial Management & Reporting
- Full-Cycle Accounting: Maintain all books and records across multiple entities, including personal accounts, LLCs, and trusts.
- Reporting: Prepare and enhance quarterly financial reports, providing a clear window into the family's net worth and liquidity.
- Cash Flow: Lead cash management, tracking, and projections to ensure all obligations are met seamlessly.
- Bill Pay: Assist family members with timely and accurate bill payments and personal expense management.
- Wealth Planning: Work closely with estate attorneys on gifting strategies and the execution/tracking of charitable contributions.
- Tax Compliance: Collaborate with external tax accountants to prepare work papers for individual, trust, and gift tax returns.
- Investment Oversight: Record and file documents for new investments; coordinate and monitor performance with third-party managers.
- Real Estate: Oversee all financial aspects of real estate transactions, including purchases, sales, and ongoing property expenses.
- Documentation: Complete and update financial agreements for loans, leases, and new ventures.
- Records Management: Maintain and update rigorous compliance records and physical/digital filing systems for insurance and legal documents.
- Ad-hoc Projects: Review potential investments for suitability and lead special reporting projects as requested by the senior partners.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance is required. A CPA is considered a significant plus.
- Technical Mastery: * Quick Books: Advanced proficiency is required (the ability to jump in with zero training).
- Excel: Strong analytical skills with the ability to build and maintain complex spreadsheets.
- Professionalism: The utmost integrity and empathy are required. You must be able to maintain total confidentiality while interacting with multiple generations of family members.
- Efficiency: A detail-oriented multitasker who can effectively prioritize commitments in a fast-paced environment.
- Communication: Strong verbal and written skills; you can translate complex financial data into clear summaries for family members.
We offer a highly competitive compensation package and comprehensive benefits, including 100% company-paid medical, dental, and vision insurance, generous 401(k) matching with profit sharing, and a tuition reimbursement program for professional development.
Compensation / Pay Rate (Up to): $80,000.00 - $90,000.00
