Pridestaff Financial is seeking a Construction Project Accountant for apremier, award-winning luxury custom home builder dedicated to crafting bespoke, multi-million dollar estates for a discerning clientele. Seeking a highly experienced and detail-oriented Senior Construction Accountant who understands the unique financial complexities of high-end residential construction to join our core team.
This is more than a bookkeeping role; you will be the financial steward of our projects, ensuring meticulous job costing, accurate cash flow management, and clear, transparent reporting for both our leadership and sophisticated clients.
Key Responsibilities
- Elite Job Costing & Project Analysis: Own the end-to-end job costing process for multiple luxury home projects, ensuring all costs are accurately tracked, coded, and reported against detailed budgets.
- Draw Requests & Cash Flow Management: Prepare and manage all construction loan draw requests (e.g., using AIA G702/G703 forms or similar lender-specific formats), including compiling comprehensive supporting documentation (invoices, lien waivers, etc.) to ensure timely funding and optimal project liquidity.
- Financial Reporting & Stakeholder Communication: Generate sophisticated, client-facing financial reports, project profitability analyses, and detailed variance reports for project managers, executives, and high-net-worth clients.
- Accounts Payable/Receivable: Oversee and manage the full A/P and A/R cycle, including processing high-volume vendor invoices, managing subcontractor compliance (insurance, lien waivers, W-9s), and handling client billing.
- Compliance & Audit Support: Ensure strict adherence to GAAP, state/local tax regulations, and internal controls specific to the construction industry. Assist with year-end financial review and tax preparation.
- Experience in Luxury Construction: Minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 2 years directly working for a custom or luxury home builder. Experience with cost-plus contracts is highly preferred.
- Software Proficiency: Advanced skills in construction-specific accounting software such as Procore, Sage Intacct, Quick Books Contractor, Yardi, BuilderTREND and expert-level proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance a must. CPA or candidate preferred.
- Core Competencies: Exceptional attention to detail, highly organized, and possessing superior verbal and written communication skills to clearly articulate complex financial data to non-financial stakeholders and high-profile clients.
