Mechanical Design Engineer; BT

Mechanical Design Engineer will support the space program located in Cape Canaveral, FL.

• Work closely with MGSE engineers to provide components or portions of system designs to include handling, lifting, test, assembly and transportation of mechanical, and electrical components.
• Responsible for engineering documentation, drawing/Computer Aided Design (CAD) maintenance and verification, and support-discipline product development.
• Use CREO to develop plans, drawings, models, revise and initiate formats for parts, assemblies, and installation engineering.
• Create new parts, drawings, BOMs, assemblies, simplified reps, shrink wraps.
• Support team members with design knowledge.
• Complete layout drawings prepared by others in accordance with standard engineering drafting practices (ASME Y14.5).
• Prepare complete production detail drawings.
• Complete design modifications to improve quality of product or facilitate manufacturing operations.
• Other duties as assigned.

• This position requires US Citizenship due to the sensitivity of customer related information.

• Must have a bachelor's degree in the field of engineering.
• Must have 3+ years of recent and related work experience.
• Must have work experience with CREO and CAD.

• This position is located onsite; some travel may be required.
• 4/10 schedule with every Friday off.
• Schedules are subject to change based on the requirements of the position and/or customer needs.

• Must have experience with Microsoft Office Suite, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and TEAMS.

• Able to follow company programs, processes, procedures, practices, requirements, goals, and objectives.
• Must be organized with good time management skills and must be able to work outside normal schedule and adjust schedule to meet peak periods and surge requirements.
• Generally, an office environment, but can involve inside or outside work depending on the task.
• Work may involve sitting or standing for extended periods (90% of the time) and may require lifting and carrying up to 25 lbs. (5% of the time).
• Regular attendance in accordance with an established work schedule is critical.
