Project Manager - South Florida Design Lead, Water / Wastewater Engineer
We are seeking a South Florida Design Lead – Project Manager in Water / Wastewater to help lead our Water Resources Design Team in Florida.
Responsibilities- Coordinate, participate in, and lead project teams in the planning, design, and construction administration of municipal and industrial water and wastewater infrastructure facilities in locations across the Southeast region.
- Collaborate with engineering staff in a delivery‑focused environment, developing and implementing study and design standards for consultants, leading progress meetings, preparing agendas and minutes, and tracking project schedules and budgets.
- Manage Water and Wastewater Treatment Facility Design, including basis of design reports, plans, specifications, calculations, cost estimates, condition assessments, and technical evaluations.
- Communicate and interact regularly with clients and regulating government agencies, including presentations and project coordination.
- Oversee construction contract management and inspection services.
- Supervise and mentor junior and mid‑level engineers.
- Demonstrate professional technical writing and verbal skills.
- Engage within the water/wastewater industry.
- Bachelor of Science degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering (Master’s preferred).
- 10+ years of experience in water/wastewater discipline, particularly in designing water and wastewater infrastructure (treatment and collection/distribution projects).
- Professional Engineer License (PE) in Florida.
- Progressive experience in evaluation, design, permitting, and construction administration of water and wastewater treatment facilities, pumping stations, water storage and distribution facilities, and wastewater collection systems.
- Demonstrated leadership experience managing integrated teams with budget and schedule monitoring and control responsibilities.
- Experienced in client relations and business development.
- Master’s Degree (strongly preferred).
- Experience with AutoCAD and/or BIM.
- Leader and team player with strong planning and organizational skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with ability to conduct effective client presentations and report preparation.
Salary range: $140,000 – $180,000, dependent on experience and geographic location.
