The West Palm Beach Produce Delivery Center (PW-PDC) is looking for an Operations Supervisor (M3) to support the F135 OEM product line on our first shift. The selected individual will supervise a team of bargaining unit hourly employees who are responsible for supporting F135 assembly and test in WPB. In addition, the person in this role will be a key contributor in meeting all EH&S, Customer, Quality, and financial goals within the WPB PDC facility.
Responsibilities include:- Provide leadership and direction to the assembly and test team to support production and quality goals.
- Collaborate with support teams to establish work schedules considering customer requirements, resource availability, and other top priorities.
- Proactively generate effective solutions for Quality process control and Continuous Improvement initiatives.
- Support process implementation and refinement activities throughout all process gates.
- Ensure World Class safety culture is maintained and respond to all EH&S requirements promptly.
- Ensure full involvement in CORE continuous improvement initiatives.
- Utilize CORE tools to improve production, performance, and reduce overall operating cost.
- Advanced degree and 3+ years of experience in Military, Manufacturing, Business Operations Management, Engineering, Aerospace or Aftermarket industry;
OR Bachelor’s degree and 5+ years of relevant industry experience;
OR Associate’s degree and 7+ years of relevant industry experience;
OR High School diploma or Military / Technical Training and 9+ years of relevant industry experience.
- Degree in STEM field;
Engineering, Business or Supply Chain. - A&P license
- Personnel management experience, particularly supporting a bargaining unit / union workforce.
- Proven ability to lead mentoring, coaching, developing talent and motivate teams to achieve business goals.
- Aerospace or equivalent military industry experience.
- Ability to read and interpret technical data, blueprints, and engineering drawings.
- Working knowledge of shop practices, quality standards, processes and procedures.
- Understanding of Lean Manufacturing principles, and continuous improvement tools (CORE/ACE/Six Sigma, QCPC and RCCA).
- Experience using Microsoft Office, SAP, MRP materials management, and MS Office Suite.
- Ability to work and effectively communicate with all levels of management, shop personnel and customers.
