Assistant Public Works Superintendent

Assists the Public Works Superintendent in planning, coordinating, supervising, and managing a large number of crews and public works equipment in the construction, rehabilitation, maintenance, and repair of all bascule, swing, fixed, and pedestrian bridges under Palm Beach County jurisdiction. Work is performed with considerable independence and initiative in accomplishing program objectives.

QUALIFICATIONS

This position requires qualified applicants to possess:

• Graduation from high school or an equivalent recognized certification; minimum of two (2) years of supervisory experience in construction, including one (1) year of experience in bridge maintenance/construction.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Preferred qualifications include:

• One (1) year of experience maintaining employee records/written documentation,

• One (1) year of experience using Word/Excel,

• One (1) year of experience reviewing construction plans and documents, and

• Bridge Inspector Certification by the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT).
