Overview
Commercial Development Program Associate at American Sugar Refining, Inc. (ASR Group). ASR Group is the world’s largest refiner and marketer of cane sugar, with an annual production capacity of more than 6 million tons of sugar. The company owns and operates six sugar refineries in North America and additional facilities in Europe, Mexico and Belize. The brand portfolio includes Domino, C&H, Redpath, Tate & Lyle, Lyle’s and Sidul.
The Commercial Development Program (CDP) is ASR’s premier program for challenging, training and grooming future ASR commercial leaders. Participants rotate through three core commercial areas of ASR’s business over a 3-year period, tackling high-impact, high-visibility assignments that drive real value for ASR while building foundational knowledge and cross-functional relationships.
Responsibilities- Join a separate ASR team each year and work alongside senior leadership on high-profile projects.
- Participate in rotations across functions such as Financial Planning & Analysis, Sustainability, Sales & Marketing, Supply Chain, Corporate Development, and Global Sugars Group (commodity research, origination & trading).
- Each rotation typically lasts approximately 12 months, with representative rotations including:
- Corporate Development: conduct industry research, financial analysis and due diligence to identify, evaluate and execute strategic transactions (mergers, acquisitions, joint ventures, partnerships, greenfield projects).
- Global Sugars Group: understand commodity trading markets, buy/sell commodities, supply chain planning, and risk management.
- Marketing: assess market trends, needs and structure, conduct competitive analysis across product lines, and gain marketing experience.
- Work Experience:
a minimum of 2 years of full-time work experience. - Education:
MBA or equivalent Master’s degree from an accredited college or university. - Essential Capabilities, Experiences & Behaviors:

- Assignments based in West Palm Beach, FL, White Plains, NY, or other ASR Group locations. Participants are expected to relocate at least once during the 3-year program.
