Overview
PAROLE/PROBATION SPECIALIST – The position is located at Region IV Community Corrections Office in West Palm Beach. This is a Career Service, non-telework role reporting to the Florida Department of Corrections. The goal of this position is to support the effective functioning of community corrections by managing intake and processing of offenders, ensuring accurate data entry, and maintaining comprehensive offender records to enhance public safety.
Responsibilities- Manage day-to-day intake and processing of offenders placed or released on community supervision, ensuring accurate data entry into the Offender Based Information System (OBIS).
- Interpret, code, and enter documents related to offender sentencing and monetary obligations into the CDC and OBIS databases using tools such as the Automated Correctional Task System and Felony Offense Coding Manual.
- Obtain, research, interpret, and verify offender data to establish initial computer records for new commitments; assist in coordinating initial and pre-release orientation programs.
- Request and screen criminal record information through NCIC/FCIC and other databases; prepare detailed prior records for new intakes.
- Develop, coordinate, and monitor community service work activities; assist with job needs and program assignments; ensure high-quality offender photographs for the department’s website.
- Note:
This is not a probation officer position.

- Must possess a high school diploma or its equivalent.
- Must possess at least two years of professional or non-professional administrative experience.
- Previous work experience in data entry.

- High school diploma or equivalent.
- At least two years of administrative experience.
- BACKGROUND SCREENING REQUIREMENT:
