Accounting Clerk

Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Accounting Clerk to join our team in Riviera Beach, Florida. In this long-term contract position, you will play a key role in maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring smooth accounting operations. The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational skills, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.

Responsibilities:

- Create and manage electronic and paper job files, including opening and closing files as necessary.

- Track the status of active jobs, reconcile job costs, and ensure accurate close-out documentation.

- Compile all relevant records and documents to calculate job costs and prepare customer invoices.

- Generate progress billings by calculating costs and work completion percentages.

- Manage customer accounts by maintaining special discounts, tax exemptions, or credit rates.

- Process credit memos and apply customer payments accurately.

- Reconcile accounts receivable with the general ledger and resolve any payment discrepancies.

- Handle vendor invoices and company credit card statements in accounts payable.

- Maintain organized files for both paid and open payables and receivables.

- Compare job costs against trial balances and investigate any discrepancies. Requirements - Proficiency in Microsoft Office and accounting software such as Quick Books.

- Strong organizational and communication skills.

- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.

- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

- Basic mathematical skills and familiarity with invoice processing.

- Analytical and problem-solving abilities.

- Capacity to perform under pressure and meet deadlines.

- Associate degree or equivalent education and training, or six months or more of related experience.
