Overview

Audit Senior | West Palm Beach | Salary $95k to $125k depending on experience

This is the kind of firm people usually find after they are a bit burned out.

Medium sized. Established. Quietly excellent.

High quality audit work without the theatre, politics, or exhaustion that often comes with it. The standards are closer to a large firm, but the day to day feels very different. More calm. More human. More trust.

The firm has been part of the local community since the 80’s and it shows. People know each other. Partners are visible. Decisions are made with people in mind, not just utilisation spreadsheets.

Family genuinely comes first here. That means flexibility when life happens, respect for personal time, and an understanding that good work does not require constant pressure. Staff turnover is extremely low and when people do leave, it is usually for life reasons like relocation, not culture.

The work itself is meaningful. Around 90% of the audits are non-profit and employee benefit plan work. It is technical, structured, and varied enough to stay interesting without becoming overwhelming.

Busy season doesn’t mean burnout, it averages hours around 43-45 hours per week. Some people choose to work closer to 50 or 55. Nobody is expected to push beyond that. This is not a firm that measures commitment by exhaustion.

You are treated like a professional here. Trusted to manage your work. Supported when needed. Left alone when not.

Benefits include health, dental and vision coverage, a 401k match, PTO up to 20 days, and discretionary summer and Christmas bonuses based on performance and firm results.

Responsibilities
  • Lead and perform audits with a focus on non-profit and employee benefit plan engagements.
  • Plan, execute, and supervise engagements; manage timelines; review work papers for quality and accuracy.
  • Communicate findings and recommendations to clients and internal stakeholders.
  • Mentor and support junior staff; promote a collaborative, low-stress work environment.
  • Ensure compliance with professional standards and firm policies while maintaining efficient workflow.
Qualifications
  • At least 2 to 3 years of public accounting experience; comfortable working through audits without constant supervision.
  • Experience with non-profit or employee benefit plan audits is helpful but not required.
  • CPA is preferred and CPA candidates are welcomed. If you are strong at what you do and do not tick every box, that is still worth a conversation.
Benefits
  • Health, dental and vision coverage
  • 401k match
