Responsibilities- Assume full responsibility for managing and supervising engagements and special assignments.
- Review supporting staff’s work for accuracy.
- Assist with entering, reconciling, and reporting of various investment strategies; review bank and brokerage statements for accurate reconciliations and expected activity; review deposit logs to confirm proof of deposit to appropriate account. Responsible for maintaining the accounting functions of the client and their various entities.
- Demonstrate a high level of technical proficiency. Keep informed of current technical developments and pending matters important to the Firm, the profession and clients.
- Participate in the supervision, training and development of less experienced staff.
Recognize non-routine accounting, investment and tax problems in client operations and after researching develop recommendations for solutions with appropriate personnel. - Monitor the realization of engagements and pursue strategies to provide satisfactory engagement economics without sacrificing quality.
- Assist partners and senior managers on draft client billing, manage collections and AR aging.
- Participate with preparation client meeting agenda and materials.
- Make good judgement on items that have tax implication and communicate efficiently and effectively with tax teams about the same.
- Assist partners and senior managers to stay on top of organizing tax documents.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in accounting or related field, or equivalent training and experience.
- At least 6-8 years experience demonstrating a progression in complexity of responsibilities.
- Good knowledge of U.S. GAAP and financial reporting.
- Familiarity with cloud based accounting systems including Quick Books, Xero, Intacct, Net Suite, , Concur, Expensify.
- Strong understanding of the relationship between Family Office Services work and tax work.
Preferred/Desired Qualifications
- Ability to work with and develop team members.
- Team player with strong communication and analytical skills.
- Strong time management and organizational skills.
- Either hold a current and valid CPA license, or working toward obtaining the license by taking and passing the Florida CPA exam is preferred.
