Base pay is in a range determined by the applicant’s skills and experience. The role is also eligible for team‑based bonus opportunities. Temporary associates are not benefits eligible but may participate in the company’s 401(k) program.

Veterans, transitioning active‑duty military personnel, and military spouses are encouraged to apply. Brookdale offers to advance fees for naturalization (Form N‑400) application costs up to $725 (less applicable taxes and withholding) for qualified associates who have been with us for at least a year.

Responsibilities

Under the supervision of a professional nurse, provide direct care to residents in accordance with Brookdale’s philosophy and standards of home health care. Assist in meeting residents’ individual needs while treating them with respect and dignity.

  • Assist residents with activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, transferring, and getting to and from activities and meals) according to the resident care/service plan.
  • Allow and encourage residents to do as much of their own care as possible.
  • Document the delivery of quality care in the resident’s clinical record.
  • Follow infection control and safety policies and guidelines.
  • Implement resident care that is accurate, timely, and appropriately documented; maintain confidentiality at all times.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and orderly environment for the residents.
  • Perform general housekeeping duties as assigned.
  • Respond promptly and positively to resident requests for assistance, including emergency pull cords.
  • Maintain consistent and concise lines of authority and responsibility with effective communication that promotes a positive working relationship with residents, families, and co‑workers.
  • Identify changes in resident status or needs and communicate to the nurse in a timely manner.
  • Participate in educational programs.

Qualifications

Education and Experience

High school diploma or GED; minimum 1–3 months related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Previous experience in a health care setting is preferred but not required. Must provide a certificate showing completion of a 75‑hour home health aide curriculum.

Certification, Licenses, and Other Special Requirements

May need to possess current state certifications and follow regulations to maintain current certification in accordance with state law.

Management/Decision Making

Make standard and routine decisions based on detailed guidelines with limited independent judgment. Problems are generally solved with clear, detailed guidelines or by reporting them to a supervisor.
