Role OverviewThis position is responsible for handling day-to-day mechanical and electrical issues within the production environment. This position must act with safety and food safety guidelines in mind at all times and maintain the highest level of compliance with each.
What You Get to Do- Acts as a safety leader and puts safety first in all responsibilities.
- Assists in maintaining spare parts inventory by cooperating with the Parts Manager.
- Troubleshoots and resolves mechanical and electrical issues on all machines.
- Works to complete Work Orders in line with established timelines.
- Contributes to teams that may work toward mechanical downtime reduction.
- Performs other duties as assigned by management.
- Working knowledge of mechanical and electrical troubleshooting
- Effective communication skills, including active listening
- Working knowledge of plant employee rules and safety standards
- Working knowledge of equipment capabilities
- Ability to analyze, problem solve, and generate new ideas; open to others ideas
- Strong work ethic, reliability, trustworthiness, and ability to learn
- Ability to collaborate openly, honestly, and constructively
- Ability to spend substantial time on the production floor
- Ability to work unusual hours
- Familiar with preventative (PM) maintenance technologies
- 2+ years in manufacturing maintenance related to mechanical and/or electrical troubleshooting
- Flexibility to work rotating shifts and/or flexible hours to accommodate production demand
This position requires employees to stand, walk, bend, reach, climb, and even sit for extended periods of time. Frequent exposure to a manufacturing environment with moderate noise levels. Potential contact with chemicals and cleaning supplies, and ability to lift up to 50 pounds is a requirement. Some parts of this position require the employee to work at heights as part of some tasks.
