Overview
Payroll Clerk Needed! Staffmark is seeking an experienced Payroll Coordinator with a strong background in construction payroll to support accurate and timely payroll processing for a multi-crew, multi-job-site workforce. This role is responsible for weekly payroll processing, labor tracking, job costing, and payroll compliance
, ensuring all employees are paid accurately and on time.
Schedule | 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
Pay | $40,000 - $55,000

Key Responsibilities- Process weekly and/or bi-weekly payroll for hourly and salaried employees across multiple construction job sites
- Review, enter, and verify timecards, labor hours, and job cost coding
- Ensure compliance with certified payroll, prevailing wage, and union/non-union requirements
- Manage payroll deductions, benefits, garnishments, and direct deposit
- Maintain accurate employee payroll records, including new hires and terminations
- Reconcile payroll reports and assist with payroll audits and compliance reviews
- Collaborate with project managers and field supervisors to resolve timekeeping issues
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll laws and regulations
- Support month-end reporting and construction job cost tracking
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Payroll, accounting, or construction-related certification preferred
- Minimum of 5 years of payroll experience, preferably in construction payroll
- Strong knowledge of construction labor classifications, job costing, and payroll compliance
- Experience processing weekly, high-volume payroll
- Working knowledge of certified payroll reporting and prevailing wage laws
- Proficiency with payroll software and electronic timekeeping systems
- High attention to detail with the ability to meet strict payroll deadlines
- Experience with union payroll and multi-state payroll processing
- Familiarity with construction accounting or ERP systems
- Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
