School Counselor

Ouachita Parish School Board has a standing application process that allows individuals to apply for positions, whether there is a vacancy or not. This allows for a pool of applicants should a position become vacant. This application is not posted for a specific location at this time.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Valid Lousiana Teaching Certificate

Lousiana Certification as a Guidance Counselor

JOB GOAL:

To plan and implement a program which creates an enviroment where

students can learn and develop optimally. To administer test, interpret

scores, and maintain other records pertinent to better understanding

of student acheivement and potential. To assist individual students

through the couseling relationship to utilize their own resources and

environment opportunities in the process of self-understanding,

planning, decision making, and coping with problems relative to

student developmental needs and educational decisions.
