Overview
Own the uptime. Step into a high-impact role where your mechanical expertise keeps critical steelmaking assets online. From conveyors and cranes to complex hydraulic, pneumatic, lubrication, and power transmission systems, you’ll be the go-to problem solver who installs, maintains, repairs, and operates equipment across a demanding heavy industrial environment.
What you’ll tackle- Diagnose and repair faults across mechanical systems (hydraulics, pneumatics, lubrication, power transmission) and equipment such as conveyors, cranes, and mobile machinery.
- Execute installations, preventive maintenance, and corrective repairs using standard/specialized tools and mobile equipment like overhead/pendant cranes and forklifts.
- Assist operations when needed to sustain throughput.
- Work independently or with other technicians; perform tasks at heights and in confined spaces.
- Operate in variable conditions—hot, cold, wet, greasy, dirty, and noisy—throughout the plant.
- 1+ year in manufacturing/industrial environments (including applicable military experience) or equivalent education; experience may include hydraulics, pneumatics, lubrication, power transmission, welding, pipe fitting, structural repair, or diesel mechanic.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- 8-hour rotating shifts including weekends and holidays; overtime as required.
- Safety-first mindset: follow procedures and wear PPE at all times (hard hat, safety glasses, hearing protection, protective clothing, metatarsal boots).
- Reliable, punctual, and self-directed; able to pass required assessment test(s).
