SummaryThe Industrial Engineer is responsible for identifying and eliminating waste and inefficiencies within the company.
Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesOther duties may be assigned.
- Lead Lean and 5S+ initiatives.
- Coordinate and perform Kaizen events.
- Develop and maintain manufacturing process instructions.
- Establish and maintain manufacturing routings.
- Analyze and implement new designs, ideas, and improvements throughout the organization regarding flow of material and information, layouts, processes, safety, processes, value streams, etc.
- Identify and implement cost savings opportunities.
- Develop resultant solutions for reported safety incidents.
- Participate in the design and improvement of production tools and fixtures.
- Perform root cause analysis.
- Provide direction and guidance to Industrial Engineering Technician(s).
- Clearly communicate progress to supervisor and other members of the organization. The responsibilities of this position require working in a team environment, soliciting information from all levels of the organization, as well as obtaining accordance on improvements and changes with all affected personnel.
Bachelor’s degree from four‑year college or university in Industrial Engineering or Industrial Engineering Technology. Practical experience and knowledge may be considered in lieu of a degree.
Knowledge / Skills (at Entry)Computer applications related to the work include the use of spreadsheets, word processors, databases, layout, and IE modeling software.
- ISO requirements and procedures.
- Lean 6 sigma (green belt level or above preferred).
- Read and disseminate technical drawings.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
