Test Technician-- SOMDC

As a Test Technician, you will perform skilled duties in the testing, troubleshooting, repair, harness build, operate and maintain real time simulator, PCB modifications, and calibration of equipment in the Electronics Lab; maintain

3+ years of experience with PCB assembly, modification, and repair, including soldering of surface-mount and through-hole components.

• Perform or scheduled lab equipment maintenance to ensure working order
• Perform product verification and validation testing
• Diagnose electrical problem and troubleshoot how to correct them using wiring schematics, repair manuals, and part catalogs as necessary
• Inspect and test equipment and components to diagnose malfunctions
• Assists the Controls Engineer with developing, managing, and implementing projects as needed.
• Identify and implement improvements for test lab processes and fixtures.
• Support a safe, inclusive workplace where all team members value diversity and individual differences.

• High School Diploma or GED. OR
• Associate degree with 2 plus years of experience OR
• Technical Degree, or equivalent combination of experience and education
• Knowledge of electronic test instruments and tools.
• Knowledge of inventory control and tracking methods.
• Knowledge of electrical schematics, and wiring guides
• Electronic soldering and printed circuit board repair skills
• Assembly of electrical test and instrumentation equipment

• Experience with IPC Electronics Manufacturing Acceptability Standards.
• Experience with Electro-static Discharge (ESD) protection.
• Experience with asset and facilities management.
• Problem solving techniques and Root Cause Analysis
• Familiarity with cable/harness fabrication, manual soldering
