Construction Management Accountant

Due to continued growth, an exciting opportunity has arisen to join our successful and expanding construction finance team based at our head office in Manchester.

You will work in a fast-paced environment and contribute to the company’s success by applying your skills, knowledge and experience. You will prepare monthly, quarterly and annual management accounts, taking full ownership of the financial activities for three construction companies. You will produce analysis for audit and tax purposes, input financial transactions into Sage 50, and prepare and submit VAT returns in line with statutory deadlines.

The role also includes completing balance sheet reconciliations and providing detailed financial analysis to support decision-making.

You will support the Construction Finance Manager and the construction purchase ledger team, while helping to implement and monitor new processes that enhance efficiency within the department. You will also oversee CIS returns, checks and reconciliations prior to final approval, and assist with any additional ad-hoc tasks as required.

• We ideally seek a full or part-qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA etc.), although candidates with extensive experience—or assistant management accountants ready for their next step—will also be considered. A background in property or construction is preferred but not essential.
• You should have experience preparing and posting month-end journals, completing ledger and control account reconciliations, and communicating financial information clearly both verbally and in writing.
• Strong Microsoft Excel skills, alongside excellent organisation and time-management abilities, are essential.

We offer a competitive salary between £30,000 and £40,000, along with on-site gym membership, free parking and daily refreshments. You will receive your birthday off, 23 days' holiday plus bank holidays, and an additional day of leave for every year of service (up to a maximum of 25 days plus bank holidays).
