Infrastructure​/Platform Engineer ( VMware & Storage

Location: Cheshire (Hybrid/Office-based)

Salary: £50,000 - £60,000 (Dependent on experience) + Benefits

The Role: We are seeking a hands‑on Infrastructure Engineer to take ownership of our virtualised environment and data storage foundations. You will be the technical lead for ensuring our core systems are resilient, performant, and securely backed up.

• Virtualization:
  Full lifecycle management of VMware vSphere (ESXi, vCenter), including host clustering, resource optimisation, and patching.
• Storage:
  Administering and scaling enterprise storage solutions (e.g., SAN/NAS, Dell Power Store, Pure, or Net App).
• Data Protection:
  Managing enterprise backup tools (e.g., Veeam, Commvault, or Zerto) to ensure RPOs and RTOs are met.
• Projects:
  Leading infrastructure upgrades, disaster recovery testing, and hardware refreshes.

• Proven experience in a 3rd Line or Infrastructure focused role.
• Deep technical knowledge of VMware (VCP certification is a plus).
• Experience with Backup & Replication strategy (Immutable backups, off‑site copies).
• Solid understanding of networking (VLANs, iSCSI, Fibre Channel).
