Overview

This position involves providing fast, friendly service by actively seeking out customers to assess their needs and provide assistance. Associates learn about products using our tools and provide information to help sell an entire project. You will greet, qualify, recommend, and close with customers in your department and learn basics in adjacent departments.

You will maintain the in-stock condition of assigned areas and ensure they are clean, shop-able, and safe. You will follow all safety policies and standards, complete required safety training, immediately correct hazards or unsafe conditions, or report them to the Manager on Duty, and work safely to avoid endangering yourself, coworkers, vendors, or customers. This role works with the Department Supervisor and other department associates and may involve multiple store departments such as Building Materials, Décor, Electrical, Flooring, Garden, Hardware, Kitchen & Bath, Lumber, Millwork, Paint, Plumbing, and Tool Rental.

The position types may include Department Sales, Lead Generator, Pro Account Sales, Sales Specialist, Special Services, and Customer Order Specialist.

• Collaborate with the Department Supervisor and other associates within and across departments.

• Support multiple role types including Department Sales, Lead Generator, Pro Account Sales, Sales Specialist, Special Services, and Customer Order Specialist.

• Customer service orientation with ability to assess customer needs and provide product information.
• Willingness to learn product knowledge and sales techniques; ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to maintain a safe and organized workspace; adherence to safety policies and training.
