Assistant Manager

SUMMARY DESCRIPTION

The Assistant Manager works closely with the Club Manager to deliver an exceptional “Judgement Free” member experience.

• Maintain CPR/AED Certification and administrative proficiency.
• Obtain Tanning Certification within required time frame.
• Recruit, hire, train, and develop a high‑performing team of Member Service Representatives, Trainers, and Custodians.
• Cultivate a welcoming atmosphere for all members, prospective members, and guests and ensure staff follows superior customer service guidelines.
• Assist with staff management, including scheduling, supervising, employee issue resolution, and backup support to the Club Manager as needed.
• Perform all front‑desk related activities: answer phones, check members in, sign‑up new members, and facilitate member requests and issues.
• Oversee cleanliness and maintenance of facility and order supplies within the club budget.
• Track statistics and reports on a weekly, monthly, and annual basis.
• Provide backup support for any employee absence.

• Superior customer service skills, preferably in the fitness industry.
• Experience as a Member Service Representative at Planet Fitness.
• Solid supervisory, diplomacy, and listening skills.
• Basic computer proficiency (Microsoft Office).
• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Must maintain CPR/AED Certification and Tanning Certification as listed.

Indoor environment, exposure to noise, dust, mechanical hazards, cleaning chemicals. Requires ability to walk, stand, stoop, kneel, crouch, climb, lift up to 50 lb, and perform repetitive hand movements. Must remain physically capable of administering CPR in an emergency.
